YOU ARE A WOMAN OF POSSIBILITIES

Every day I get encouraging messages from my friends.  I love the way women hold optimism and possible happiness in their hearts.  I also love the way women share that optimism with each other.   Veronica Cuevas in South America was the one today.  She sent this message that you can send to eight of your friends, creating a web of support all over the globe.  Try it!  I dare you to believe every word of her message about yourself, for you are all that and more.  As you send your message on to eight more women, the net of support will grow. Stillheart and the poem, “You Are More”

My life was enriched last week with a retreat at a very lovely, luxurious, beautiful site in the redwood forest just outside of San Francisco.  My host, Cassie Schindler, had arranged with meticulous creativity a weekend of wellness for all the participants at Stillheart retreat center.  And, the women who attended were the kind I want for lifelong friends.  They came from all walks of life, in various states of wellness, and with open hearts as well as open minds and open wills.  Such powerful women they were, each one in her own way being totally present for this event.  Cassie’s theme was the Butterfly, emerging from the chrysalis.  And, emerge they did!  Many expert teachers were available, each one a leader in her field.  These women offered  energy healing and balancing, water aerobics instruction, yoga, drumming, Tarot reading, and even a session learning ballet.  All these gentle classes  along with organic food that was super delicious made it a weekend of pure delight.  Stillheart, itself, was a great soothing healing experience.   The grounds include a labyrinth and landscaping that was breathtaking.  The fountain at the entry, huge pieces of great art, the giant crystals on display and an array of amethyst geodes (the largest and most beautiful I ever had seen) beds, pillows, and accommodations that were heavenly all made for a restful and spiritual weekend. SIX WOMEN

Sunday, March 4, 2012.   I was thinking today about the astonishing contribution made by courageous women in the last century. Six women come to mind because they were part of my learning and my growth. Each of them was courageous, smart, and profoundly connected to all of Life on all levels. I want to describe them to you. And, specifically, I want to tell you about they have impacted my personal life story. These six women are Jane Roberts, Helen Schucman, Esther Hicks, Jean Houston, Jean Bolen, and Byron Katie.   The first three, Jane Roberts, Helen Schucman, and Esther Hicks, all channeled messages from the “other side.” Dr. Jean Houston and Dr. Jean Bolen have been my teachers through their writings and their work. Then along came Byron Katie with her profound enlightenment experience and the gift of what she calls, The Work. All six of these women have touched something in my mind, heart, and being that made a difference in my own expanding consciousness. I was drawn to learn what each of them had to offer. Read more...

GOING LIVE

GOING LIVE

This is a big day here at our house. From my little bedroom office, I am processing book orders. For the first time ever, I am selling my books online. I am sure that words like “web” and “net” are indicative of our being linked up with one another. I am so old that I have experienced the power shift in our system of communication from the United States Postal Service to the World-Wide Web. I appreciate the miracle of the internet and the ease with which we can contact one another. Read more...

TAMA-DO, The Way of the Soul

In the year 2000, Paul was visiting after the service at All Saints Episcopal Church in Corpus Christi, where we were members.  The choir director, Arlene Long, was telling us she was going to France to study a healing method, using sound, color, and movement.  She was enthusiastic and her description of the instruments, the methods and the teachings of Fabien Maman made me ask if she thought it might help Paul’s hearing loss.  She said it might do that, at which point we pointed to Paul and said, “You are going to France!”  He went, with five women, for the two weeks of level one training.  He came back with renewed life, vigor, and seemed to be able to hear much better.  We invited Fabien and his partner, Terres Unsoeld, to come to Corpus Christi for classes that we offered.  Terres taught healing using color and flower essences.  Alice Bailey’s Seven Rays are integral in her methods.   Fabien is from a lineage of rabbis, so he includes the tree of life (the Sefirot), he also connects all life from eight stars to the cells in our bodies.  His story starts with his career as a jazz guitarist.  He and his band were on tour and arrived in Tokyo, exhausted and weary.  They asked the hotel to arrange for the band members to get massages and were sent an acupuncturist instead.  After the acupuncture  treatment, they were so revived, played so brilliantly, and continued their tour in high health that Fabien decided to leave his music career and go to China to study acupuncture.  His methods are based in Chinese medicine.  This means the study of the subtle bodies, all the meridians that are the pathways of energy in the body, and the command points where traditional acupuncturists use needles.  Fabian integrated all this with the science of pure sound, Kototama.  As a result, his methods use the command points with tuning forks instead of needles.  I quickly add that we have only scratched the surface of what is to be learned and we have studied this for more than ten years now.
